Zastron is 'n klein landboudorpie in die Vrystaatse provinsie van Suid-Afrika, sowat 30 km vanaf die grens van Lesotho. Dit is geleë aan die voet van Aasvoëlberg, vernoem na die skaars Kaapse aasvoëls wat deur 'n voerprojek 'n entjie uit die dorp gelok word.
Zastron is die kommersiële sentrum vir bees-, skaap-, mielie-, koring- en suiwelboerdery, maar dit is ook 'n wonderlike plek om te bly as jy op soek is na 'n bietjie verkenning, en dit is moontlik hoekom dit een van die meer gewilde dorpe in hierdie deel van die Vrystaat is.
Zastron is a small agricultural town in the Free State province of South Africa, some 30 km from the border of Lesotho. It is situated at the foot of Aasvoëlberg, named for the rare Cape vultures attracted by a feeding project a short distance out of town.
Zastron is the commercial centre for cattle, sheep, maize, wheat and dairy farming, but it is also a great place to stay if you're after a little exploration, which is possibly why it's one of the more popular towns in this part of the Free State.
